This time, when I came to Beijing to explore Xicheng in depth, I specifically chose to stay at Min Zu Hotel Beijing. Originally, I only chose it for its landmark property of Chang'an Avenue. After staying for three days, I realized that the transportation and surrounding facilities here have completely taken advantage of all the convenience points of Xicheng's leisure and business travel. Even tourists like me who don't like crowded people have arranged their itinerary to be smooth and comfortable.
The location of the hotel can be regarded as the "travel hub" of the western section of Chang'an Avenue. From Exit A of Fuxingmen Station, where Line 1 and Line 2 transfer, you can walk less than 300 meters to the main entrance of the hotel. You don't have to take the wrong route with your luggage. From Beijing South Station, take Line 4 and transfer to Line 1, and the entire journey takes 40 minutes without having to wait in line for a ride hailing service at the entrance of the station. Friends who come by car don't have to worry at all. The hotel comes with a super large exclusive parking lot, which can be found in a hard to find area in the core of Chang'an Avenue. Being able to find a hotel with sufficient free parking spaces is simply a blessing for self driving tourists. If you want to go to the Capital International Airport, you can take the Second Ring Road and transfer to the Airport Expressway in 35 minutes to get there directly. You don't have to squeeze into the congested traffic of the Third Ring Road at all, and you don't have to rush out two or three hours in advance to catch an early flight.
The commuting efficiency to the core scenic spots is unbelievably high. It only takes 8 minutes to walk directly to the Xidan business district without crowding the crowds of Wangfujing. Walking south along Xidan North Street, you can pass by many century old brands hidden in old alleys along the way. You can stroll all the way to West Chang'an Avenue, and the sunset photos taken on Chang'an Avenue are even less crowded with pedestrians. It takes only 15 minutes to walk to Financial Street. Whether it's business connections or checking in to the popular landmarks of Financial Street, there's no need to take a taxi to a specific location. After a meal, you can take a stroll around the entire area. Walk 20 minutes to the other side to reach the Temple of Emperors and the White Pagoda Temple. Take a direct bus for half an hour to reach the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City, without having to take detours in the city.
The surrounding dining resources are full of surprises. Walking downstairs for 5 minutes is the old Beijing food circle, from authentic ethnic specialties and decades old local restaurants to old Beijing copper pot braised pork. The old brands hidden on the small streets do not need to cross half a city to check in, and you can enjoy authentic flavors downstairs. Within a 10 minute walk, there are also many niche cafes and independent bookstores located in the old courtyard houses. If you get tired of strolling, simply turn in and sit for half an hour to avoid the crowds of Xidan and steal a moment of relaxation for yourself.
Even if you want to go to farther attractions, there are more than ten bus routes passing through the bus stop in front of the hotel, directly leading to Tiananmen Square, Guomao, and the Summer Palace. If you don't want to take the subway, take a double decker sightseeing bus and leisurely stroll on Chang'an Avenue. The red walls and yellow tiles along the way are much more interesting than taking a taxi. During the three days I stayed, I didn't even open the taxi app. I had to walk and take the subway to explore all the spots in Xidan, Baita Temple, and the Forbidden City.
On the day I left the hotel, I dragged my suitcase slowly to the subway station, holding a pair of pickled pork knuckles that I had just bought from a local old brand. Having stayed in the core area of Chang'an Avenue so many times, Min Zu Hotel Beijing is one of the few choices that can balance the "Chang'an Avenue landscape, convenient transportation, and freedom to browse and eat". Next time I come to Beijing to explore a niche spot in Xicheng, I will definitely book here as soon as possible.Show more
